2009 Christmas is coming. Wyndham Xiamen has been undergoing intense preparation to create a special festive atmosphere. The result, it is real Christmas feel at Wyndham.
On 5th December, 2009, to start the festive season, the hotel will present one of the most amazing parts of the Christmas preparation, the lighting ceremony. Don’t miss this incredible event, as this lighting ceremony is characterized and accompanied by many exciting ideas.
Yvonne Zheng, the PR manager has revealed some of the stunning features of the Christmas decoration. One of them is its Christmas tree. Suspended from the over 15 metres high on the ceiling, the upside-down Christmas tree is the first of its kind in the world. It is laced with thousand of huge crystals which make up part of the feature of the tree, creating the most expensive Christmas tree in Xiamen.
The lounge with the Christmas tree as the centerpiece has been decorated with colourful illuminators, lights, some in gold, purple and silver lighting. People who are interested in taking a glance at this lustrous ceremony can do so at their own accord.
On the night, the ceremony will begin at 6.30pm. There will be carol singing from the students group from Xiamen International School. Other entertainments include three Charlie Chaplin impersonators. The 'Chaplins’ will be giving away Christmas gifts to the audiences.
Invited guests will be showed to the snack bar where various Christmas snacks such as hot chocolate, candies, pies, gingerbread and champagne will be served at the lounge bar on the night of lighting ceremony. The ginger bread house, perhaps the biggest in Xiamen, will be spared for later. However, the aroma from the ginger bread is so tempting that it will make your mouth water. Incidentally, the ginger bread house can accommodate several fully grown adults.
At 19:00 hours sharp, Mr. Dominique Galperti, the general manager of the hotel, will turn the light switch on to light up all the Christmas lightings in the hotel, Wyndham Xiamen will then officially begin its merry Christmas celebration right into the new year of 2010.
As a part of the Xiamen society, Wyndham Xiamen has committed itself to charities. During the festival, Wyndham Xiamen will send Christmas gifts, food and the best wishes to children in Xiamen Cannan Autism Centre.
