The selection result of "2010 China's leisure cities" was issued on Nov. 2, and Hangzhou leads other nine cities that were selected as "2010 China's best leisure cities."
The selection activity was jointly launched by the Leisure and Vacation Branch Association of China Tourism Association, National Leisure Standardization Technical Committee and People's Daily Online as well as batches of authoritative tourism institutes and famous companies.
In the six-month time, organizing committee collected statistics of 27 indexes in four major aspects, including "city's card," "leisure environment," "leisure situation" and "leisure economy." and then counted the leisure index of 287 cities in China. And all the 287 cities were exhibited on People's Daily Online for four months and received public votes, with over 1 million participating in the poll, which lasted until Oct. 31.
On Nov. 2, experts gave a ranking list of those cities due to their leisure indexes. The upper 30 cities on the list are named as "2010 China's Leisure Cities," while the top ten are named with "2010 China's Best Leisure Cities." And the top ten cities are Hangzhou, Tsingtao, Sanya, Lijiang, Chengdu, Yantai, Huangshan, Guilin, Qinhuangdao and Suzhou.
