Daduhe Grand Valley

Daduhe Grand Valley (dà dù hé dà xiá gǔ 大渡河大峡谷) is located in Yaan City (yǎ ān shì 雅安市) of Sichuan Province (sì chuān shěng 四川省). The valley is 17 kilometers wide from east to west and 26 kilometers long from south to north. The deepest point of the Daduhe Grand Valley is more than 2600 meter, which is one time deeper than Three Gorges (sān xiá 三峡), and 860 meters deeper than Grand Canyon in Colorado. With arduous cliffs and peaks erecting high to the sky and rivers and streams are going across each other in the bottom, the valley is gorgeous.

In hundreds of thousand years, the flowing Dadu River (dà dù hé 大渡河) is like a huge sharp saw slicing the rocks and stones at the bottom of the valley, makes the valley much deeper and wider. On both banks of the valley, there are the well-preserved rock formations, in which there are the fossils of the ancient organisms. The rock formations are like a vivid geology book, which records the evolution process of the living things within this area.

The Dadu River in the valley is like a roaring dragon, together with the running trains, you will feel that the valley is shaking. Besides, there are the Moon Bay (yuè liàng wān 月亮湾), Lover’s Valley (qíng rén gǔ 情人谷), Woniu Pool (wò niú tán 卧牛潭), and Shigu Waterfall (shí gǔ pù 石鼓瀑), which are amazing.

Except for the various geologic relics, the natural scenery in the valley is also attractive. In the thick virgin forest, there are various species of vegetations. Waterfalls in the valley are in different poses and with different expressions.

People living deep in the valley are still getting in touch with the outside world by cable sliding and high ladder. That is why there are some unknown places in the valley. When you travel in the valley, you can take a cruise, appreciating the grandness, gorgeousness and the steepness of the valley.
