A Glimpse of Guizhou

Guizhou University is located in Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou Province and a major city in southwestern China. Guiyang is dubbed “a shinning pearl” on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. With an average altitude of 1,000 meters, the City is known for its agreeable warm winter and cool summer, with the summer temperature hovering between 19 to 26 degrees Celsius. The Karst landscapes account for more than 85% of the total area of the City, characterizing spectacular scenes of peak clusters, canyons, valleys and caves. The 41.78% high forest coverage makes Guiyang the first “National Forest City” and the “Natural Oxygen Bar” of China. Seventeen long-dwelling ethnic minorities including Miao, Bouyei and Gelao have been co-prospering here in harmony, forming a magnificent view of multifarious blooming ethnic cultures.
