Daqing City

Daqing, or "Grand Celebration" in English, became the backbone of China's expanding petroleum industry when crude oil was discovered in the region of the city. The pivotal role Daqing played in the development of China is best reflected in Mao Zedong's famous quote: "In industry, learn from Daqing". 

Daqing is a relatively new industrial and mining city. The city is the largest petroleum and petrochemical base in China, as well as an important production base in the province for commodity grain, livestock products and sea products.
